Andrzej Drzewiński is the author of fantasy and science-fiction books, adventure novels and popular science publications. He made his debut in 1978 with his short stories at the Academic Radio of the Wrocław University of Technology. His short story “Zabawa w Strzelanego” appeared in the first issue of “Fantastyka”, and in 1983 appeared in the collection of his short stories under the same title.
Together with Andrzej Ziemiański, he wrote two novels: “Zabójcy szatana” and “Nostalgia za Sluag Side”. He is also the co-author of two collections of short stories: “The Messenger”, which he created with Mirosław Jabłoński, and “Bohaterowie do Wynajęcia,” which he wrote together with Jacek Inglot. He did not stop with stories and together with Jacek Wojtkowicz they wrote the popular science book “Opowieści z Historii Fizyki”. For it, he received the award of the Polish Physical Society for the popularization of physics. Marek Oramus conducted an interview with him titled “The Great Building Site”, which appeared
in “Wiedza i Życie” No. 04/2014, and then in the book In 2018, “Na niebie i ziemi”, published by Zona Zero, also wrote with Adam Cebula, Eugeniusz Dębski and Piotr Surmiak in the author’s group Kareta Wrocławski, and the collection of their short stories “Upalna Zima” was published in 2012.
But Andrzej Drzewiński’s writing career is only an addition to his successful professional life as a physicist. He obtained his doctoral and postdoctoral degrees at theWłodzimierz Trzebiatowski Institute of Low Temperature and Structural Research at the Polish Academy of Sciences, later he worked as an associate professor at the Institute of Mathematics and Computer Science at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science of the Częstochowa University of Technology, and then at the Institute of Physics of the University of Zielona Góra, where on December 23, 2010 he was awarded the title of professor of physical sciences. He has over 80 articles and four promoted doctors to his credit, and for several years he has been the dean of the Faculty of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Zielona Góra.
