Andrzej Pilipiuk (writer / Poland)

Andrzej Pilipiuk needs no introduction to anyone in Poland. One of the few professional writers in the fandom – he makes a living by writing books. Over the last 25 years, he has published 41 books from different fantasy generes, he also has region publications and “Report from the North” – a travel journalism book. Under the name of Tomasz Olszanowski, he published 19 volumes of continuation of the adventures of Mr. Samochodzik. Winner of fandom literary awards, including the most important ones – Janusz A. Zajdel and Nautilus. Married with three children, he currently lives in Krakow.

He made his debut in 1996 in the monthly “Fenix” with the story “Hiena”, which gave rise to a series of over 150 stories about Jakub Wędrowycz, an aggressive exorcist-alcoholic. Although he is best known for writing humorous fiction, he also delves into more serious topics. He most often looks for inspiration in the past, also in the history of medicine and the history of technology.

On February 24, the collection of short stories “Czarna Góra” had its premiere – the 12th volume of the series “The Worlds of Pilipiuk”.
